Shifting sand
2025
Material
Wooden boxes filled with sand, spray painted stencils
Description
This artwork explores the memories bound to my childhood home, the fragility of a home’s foundation and the experience of losing it. The images are taken from photographs of my upbringing and printed onto sand collected from the house where I lived throughout most of my childhood and into adulthood, until it was recently sold.
Through this piece, I reflect on how memories become tethered to places, how easily they shift or erode and how the landscapes of our past continue to shape us long after we leave them behind.
